Los Angeles authorities are investigating a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on Sunset Boulevard last night. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was struck by a speeding car near the intersection of Sunset and Vine at around 9:00 PM. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision.
The LAPD is reviewing nearby security cameras in hopes of identifying the suspect’s vehicle, which is believed to be a black SUV. “This was a tragic and senseless act. We need to find the person responsible and hold them accountable,” said LAPD Officer Sarah Mitchell. “Anyone with information should come forward.”
This hit-and-run is the third fatal accident in the area this month, prompting concerns about pedestrian safety in busy neighborhoods like Sunset Boulevard. Local officials are calling for improved traffic enforcement and better pedestrian infrastructure to prevent future accidents.
