The Bronx Zoo welcomed hundreds of guests on October 5, 2024, for its annual Wildlife Conservation Gala, a glamorous evening dedicated to raising funds for global animal preservation efforts. This year’s theme, Protecting Biodiversity for Future Generations, spotlighted the zoo’s work in protecting endangered species and promoting sustainable conservation practices worldwide.
“This gala is a reminder of the urgent need to act for our planet’s wildlife,” said Maria Watson, Director of the Bronx Zoo. The event included keynote speeches from leading conservationists, live animal encounters, and an auction featuring rare experiences like behind-the-scenes tours of the zoo’s breeding programs.
Guests enjoyed a farm-to-table dinner under the stars, with proceeds going toward projects such as habitat restoration, anti-poaching initiatives, and breeding programs for critically endangered species like the Sumatran tiger and the black rhinoceros.
Attendees praised the Bronx Zoo’s dedication to educating the public while driving meaningful change in global conservation efforts. The gala raised over $5 million, reinforcing the zoo’s role as a global leader in protecting wildlife and promoting sustainable practices.
