The Brooklyn Nets made history today by hiring Samantha Carter as the NBA’s first-ever female head coach. Carter, a former WNBA star and assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
“This is a dream come true,” Carter said during her introduction at Barclays Center. “I’m honored to lead this team and break barriers for women in sports.”
Fans and players praised the hire as a bold and progressive move for the franchise. “She’s exactly what we need to take us to the next level,” said Nets forward Kevin Durant.
