Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan is set to make a significant mark on New York Citys hospitality scene with the upcoming launch of Slam, a $7 million, 9,000-square-foot sports bar located directly across from Madison Square Garden (MSG). Scheduled to open in the fall of 2025, the venue aims to celebrate Hogans storied wrestling career and his deep-rooted connection to MSG.

Situated at 461 8th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, Slam will occupy a prime location formerly home to Brother Jimmy’s BBQ. The establishment is a collaborative effort between Hogan and New York nightlife veteran Rich Rosen, who serves as President and CEO of Scores Sports Bars. Rosen, inspired by Hogans legendary status and his history with MSG, approached the wrestling star with the concept after waiting in line for hours at an autograph signing event. He presented Hogan with a photo of the venues location, emphasizing its proximity to MSG, and proposed the idea of partnering on the project. Hogan responded positively, leading to the formation of a licensing agreement that allows the use of his name and branding for the bar.

Slam is designed to be a three-level establishment, featuring a rooftop bar and a capacity to host up to 300 patrons. The interior will be adorned with memorabilia from Hogans wrestling career, including large screens showcasing his most iconic matches and moments. A standout feature will be a replica of MSGs ceiling and a central Jumbotron, aiming to immerse visitors in the atmosphere of the famed arena. Additionally, the bar will serve Hogans signature Real American Beer, further integrating his personal brand into the experience.

Hogans relationship with Madison Square Garden is a significant aspect of his wrestling legacy. He made his WWE debut at MSG in 1979, captured his first WWE Championship there in 1984 by defeating the Iron Sheik, and headlined the inaugural WrestleMania in 1985. These milestones have cemented MSG as a pivotal venue in Hogans career, making the location of Slam particularly meaningful.

Beyond Slam, Hogan continues to expand hibs usiness ventures. His Real American Beer brand has gained traction, and reports indicate that the company is in discussions to acquire the intellectual property of Hooters following the restaurant chains bankruptcy. This move would further diversify Hogans portfolio and extend his influence in the hospitality industry.

While Hogan does not hold an ownership stake in Slam, his involvement through the licensing deal and anticipated regular appearances at the bar are expected to draw fans and patrons. The combination of nostalgic wrestling elements, strategic location, and Hogans personal brand positions Slam as a potential hotspot for both wrestling enthusiasts and the general public.

As the opening date approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be a unique addition to New York Citys vibrant bar scene. With its homage to wrestling history and connection to one of the sports most iconic figures, Slam is poised to offer an experience that resonates with fans and newcomers alike.
