The Metropolitan Opera debuted its highly anticipated new season on September 6, 2024, with a groundbreaking modern retelling of Verdi’s Othello. “This is opera reimagined for the 21st century,” said Peter Gelb, the Met’s General Manager, during the star-studded opening night gala.
