The New York Philharmonic drew thousands of music lovers to Central Park tonight for a free outdoor concert under the stars. The performance, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, featured a mix of classical masterpieces and modern compositions.
“This city thrives on its arts and culture,” Dudamel said before the event. “Bringing music to the heart of New York is a joy for all of us.”
The concert concluded with a stunning fireworks display, drawing cheers from the audience. Part of the Philharmonic’s summer outreach program, the event is one of several planned across the boroughs to make classical music more accessible.
