New York City, August 2, 2024 – The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) began a $4 billion renovation project to upgrade heating systems, plumbing, and elevators in over 300 public housing complexes. The initiative aims to improve living conditions for more than 400,000 residents.
“This is a long-overdue investment in our communities,” said NYCHA Chair Gregory Russ. The renovations will also include energy-efficient upgrades to reduce utility costs and carbon emissions.
