New York City, June 2, 2024 – Pride Month officially began with the raising of the iconic rainbow flag at City Hall, marking the start of a month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ rights and culture.

“This flag represents love, resilience, and progress,” said Mayor Eric Adams during the ceremony. Pride events across the city will include parades, film screenings, and discussions on queer history and activism. The month will culminate with the NYC Pride March on June 30.
