Queens marked the opening of its largest community health center, a 100,000-square-foot facility in Jamaica designed to provide affordable healthcare to underserved populations. The center offers services including primary care, mental health counseling, and dental care, and will serve over 50,000 patients annually.
“Healthcare is a right, not a privilege,” said Governor Kathy Hochul during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The center is expected to create hundreds of jobs while alleviating pressure on overcrowded hospitals.
