The Statue of Liberty Museum unveiled a cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) exhibit today, allowing visitors to experience the construction and history of the iconic monument like never before. Using AR headsets, guests can explore immersive timelines and see Lady Liberty’s original torch up close.
“This technology brings history to life,” said museum director Elaine Thompson. “It’s an educational and emotional journey for visitors of all ages.”
The exhibit, which coincides with the museum’s fifth anniversary, is expected to boost tourism to Liberty Island. Tickets for the experience sold out within hours of its launch, prompting the museum to plan expanded hours this summer.
