Body of Missing Bronx Woman Discovered in Yonkers
NEW YORK – The search for 26-year-old Pamela Alcantara has concluded in a heartbreaking manner, as her body was located within a duffel bag near the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers. This tragic discovery was made on Thursday, following her report of being missing earlier in the week.
Timeline of Events
Authorities reported that Alcantara was last seen at her residence on Morris Avenue in the Bronx around 2 a.m. on March 2. After a few days without her, family members officially reported her missing, which prompted an extensive investigation by the NYPD.
Later, police found her remains in a duffel bag during the afternoon of March 5. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and confirmed her death.
Investigation Developments
As part of their ongoing investigation, police have taken Alcantara’s boyfriend into custody for questioning. So far, however, no charges have been filed, and authorities have not disclosed whether he is a suspect in her death.
The cause of death is pending determination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
