NEW YORK – Authorities are actively looking for an individual who assaulted a young child at a subway station in Queens, subsequently threatening both the child and his mother with a knife.

The unsettling event occurred on the F train platform at the 21st Street-Queensbridge subway station in Long Island City at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, February 23.
According to police reports, the suspect approached a 7-year-old boy and his 37-year-old mother and forcefully pushed the boy to the ground. When the mother confronted the attacker, the assailant shoved the boy again before brandishing a knife and fleeing the scene.
