Sada Baby Arrested on Felony Drug Charges After Traffic Incident
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Four months after a routine traffic stop led to his detention, Detroit rapper Sada Baby, also known as Casada Sorrell, has been arrested on felony drug charges.
Details of the Traffic Stop
The incident occurred in the early hours of January 9, when police officers in Sterling Heights observed a Dodge Ram with excessively tinted windows. Upon running the vehicle’s registration, authorities discovered that the owner was wanted for multiple outstanding warrants.
Upon confirming that the driver was indeed Sorrell, law enforcement took him into custody. Further checks revealed that he had an active warrant regarding a separate issue related to operating a vehicle without a license, which was filed in October 2023.
Drug Charges Arising From the Stop
During the traffic stop, police found what they described as “possible illegal contraband.” After undergoing testing, the substance was confirmed to be narcotics. As a result, Sada Baby was taken into custody once more on Tuesday in Shelby Township.
Currently, he faces a charge for possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance, specifically narcotics or cocaine.
Previous Legal Issues
In recent months, Sorrell has faced various legal challenges. Court documents indicate that in June 2023, he was charged with driving without a valid license for a duration of three years. Last month, he pleaded guilty to failing to display a valid driver’s license and was subsequently ordered to pay fines.
Current Status
As of Wednesday morning, Sada Baby remains incarcerated at the Macomb County Jail. The timing of his arraignment for the new felony charge has yet to be determined.
