On October 25, 2024, Queens welcomed foodies from across the city and beyond for the annual International Food Festival, held at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. Known as NYC’s most diverse borough, Queens celebrated its global culinary heritage with over 100 food vendors representing cuisines from more than 50 countries.
“This festival is a celebration of the incredible diversity that makes Queens so special,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards. Attendees enjoyed a culinary journey featuring everything from Colombian arepas and Tibetan momos to Nigerian jollof rice and Greek baklava.
In addition to food stalls, the event featured cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, interactive workshops on traditional cooking techniques, and cultural performances that included music, dance, and storytelling from around the world. Families were treated to a dedicated kids’ zone with activities like cookie decorating and food-themed crafts.
The festival also emphasized sustainability, with vendors using compostable serving materials and recycling stations set up throughout the venue. Proceeds from the event supported local community programs, further highlighting the borough’s commitment to giving back. Attendees praised the festival as a vibrant and delicious reflection of NYC’s multicultural identity.
