Yella Beezy’s Bond Reduced in Connection with Mo3’s Murder Case
Dallas, TX – Yella Beezy, also known as Markies Conway, recently appeared in court for a bond reduction hearing relating to the alleged murder of fellow rapper Mo3, real name Melvin Noble.
Court Hearing Details
During a court session, Yella Beezy’s bond was initially set at $2 million following his arrest last week, stemming from accusations that he contracted a hitman to kill Mo3.
Prosecutors presented evidence during the hearing, including a video showing the alleged hitman chasing and shooting at Noble on Interstate 35 in November 2020. This dramatic footage underscored the severity of the situation, as the event unfolded in broad daylight.
Arguments from Both Sides
The prosecution argued against reducing the bond, emphasizing that Conway posed a danger and had substantial financial resources that could enable him to flee. They highlighted his ownership of a luxurious, bulletproof Denali and residence in a mansion, questioning his financial claim of being unable to afford the initial bond amount.
“You’re in agreement that your grandson is substantially wealthy, correct?” the prosecution questioned.
In response, Conway’s grandmother, Alma Jean Alexander, stated, “He might used to be, but if he could make a $2 million bond, he’d be out.”
Judge’s Decision and Conditions
After considering the arguments presented, Judge Gracie Lewis decided to lower Conway’s bond to $750,000. However, she imposed strict conditions, including prohibitions on any contact with the victims or witnesses involved in the case.
Addressing Conway, the judge emphasized:
“You are to have no contact, direct or indirect, no threatening or harassment of any victims or witnesses…”
Additionally, Judge Lewis expressed concerns regarding Conway’s lack of seriousness about the case, particularly in relation to the financial documentation he was required to submit.
Background on the Case
The allegations against Yella Beezy emerged after he was indicted by a Dallas County grand jury. He faces charges of capital murder with remuneration for allegedly facilitating the hit on Mo3, who was fatally shot while fleeing from an assailant on the highway.
In November 2020, Noble was targeted while sitting in his car; the shooter, Kewon Dontrell White, approached wearing a ski mask and opened fire as Noble attempted to escape. White was arrested subsequently and is currently serving time for firearm-related charges connected to the incident.
