Police Search for Burglars in $1 Million Kew Gardens Home Invasion
QUEENS – Authorities are actively investigating a home invasion that resulted in the theft of more than $1 million in valuables from a residence in Kew Gardens, Queens. The incident occurred last Wednesday at approximately 7 p.m. near Mayfair Road and 116th Street.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, a group of five unidentified suspects forcibly entered the home, where they confronted two women. The intruders allegedly pushed a 53-year-old woman to the ground and bound both her and a 36-year-old woman using tape. This alarming act of violence allowed the burglars to proceed with their planned theft.
Scope of the Theft
During their time inside the residence, the burglars ransacked the premises, making off with various valuables including jewelry, purses, clothing, and other items. The total estimated value of the stolen goods amounts to approximately $1,105,000.
Escape and Ongoing Investigation
After executing their crime, the group fled the scene in a white 2021 Toyota RAV4, with a sixth individual believed to be acting as the getaway driver. Fortunately, no injuries were reported to the victims during this harrowing experience.
