NYC Marathon Expo Opens with Record Attendance

The TCS NYC Marathon Expo opened on October 24, 2024, at the Jacob K. Javits Center, drawing thousands of runners, supporters, and fitness enthusiasts from around the world. The three-day event, held ahead of the marathon on November 3, showcases the latest in sports technology, apparel, and nutrition, as well as offering workshops and panels on race preparation.
“This expo is more than just a lead-up to race day—it’s a celebration of the global running community,” said race director Ted Metellus. Highlights include interactive exhibits on recovery techniques, free gait analysis from sportswear brands, and inspirational talks from past marathon champions.
Local vendors, including NYC-based fitness companies and food producers, featured prominently, offering everything from electrolyte drinks to eco-friendly running gear. Families and spectators also participated in charity runs and wellness activities designed to include non-marathoners in the festivities.
With record attendance expected this year, the expo reflects the growing excitement surrounding the NYC Marathon, which will see its largest-ever field of 60,000 participants. Organizers emphasized the event’s role in inspiring healthy lifestyles and showcasing NYC as a premier destination for sports tourism.
