Historic Brooklyn Bridge to Undergo Major Renovation

The Brooklyn Bridge to Undergo $1 Billion Renovation Starting This Spring
City officials have announced a $1 billion renovation for the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, set to begin this spring. The project will prioritize structural repairs, the expansion of pedestrian pathways, and the integration of modern safety features, all while preserving the historic character of the bridge.
“This renovation ensures the Brooklyn Bridge remains a symbol of New York’s past and future,” said Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez.
Carrying over 100,000 commuters daily, the Brooklyn Bridge has not seen a major overhaul in more than 30 years.
The renovation is expected to take four years to complete, with planners promising minimal disruptions to traffic during the process.
